I mean, don't get me wrong, I use reddit and have a niche there. But damn.

It's gonna take some work to tailor a feed anywhere else that doesn't feel pigeonholed.

I'm quick with the block button, myself. But I never wanted to be famous, on the internet or otherwise. I'm basically a nobody on the internet, and I kinda like it that way. 🤣

I was able to turn off push notifications from my phone's settings this morning.

If/when it comes back online for us, I am dreading the wall of notifications. I can't even leave emails unread, it makes me anxious. 🤣

It would be cool if we did. I didn't make a lot of money from monetization, but every few months or so, I would have a video or two that would earn me $20-50. I had one video get like 30k views yesterday and I wouldn't hate it if I got paid for it.

I woke up to a stream of push notifications from people interacting with my videos. I had to kill my notifications from my phone settings because I couldn't turn them off in the app.

It's been a weird last two weeks on the internet.

I think I'm right, I just don't have any kind of scientific evidence to back it up. Just anecdotal evidence and hyperactive pattern recognition 🤣

I encountered a lot of dreadful human beings on that app. People who were willfully ignorant and/or needlessly rude and just wanted to feel superior to others. But I blocked enough of them that most of my interaction was much more pleasant.

I think once the shock wears off, it will settle in to a slightly less confrontational vibe. Or at least I hope so. If not, well, I've seen the rise & fall of social media since before Myspace was even a thing. The Next Big Thing™ will come along, ya know?

But you're totally right. Hell, I learned a lot about myself by stumbling across autism TT on accident.

It was a weird phenomenon that made the world seem a little smaller. I know I made some friends and connections over there that absolutely wouldn't have happened otherwise. Of course, having to block 37 accounts from the same annoying person was a thing sometimes, but still. 🤣

I have had an idea in my head for a while and I don't know if I'm right or wrong, but I feel like text-based social media makes dehumanizing people easier than video-based social media. This is words on a screen. The other is a person talking. I may be overthinking it, but idk.

Caffeine hasn't kicked in yet, but maybe I'll see what you did there once I get some caffeine.

I cried posting my last video because I had promised my daughter that I would eventually do a TikTok with her and so I made that my last post. Or maybe I cried because I started by talking about the letter she wrote me because I didn't have any Christmas presents under the tree. Idk, I'm tired.
