12. Final Fantasy Distant Worlds 2025 in London
Excellent show, good energy in the room. The set list i found was different to what we got at my showing, which was a fun surprise. Crowd "participation" during Ben Starr's cameo was annoying though. shut up and let the hot man talk. SEPIROTH.

11. Severance S1&S2
Binged the whole thing over a couple of days. Think that's the right approach for this one. Fun concept, kept me engaged even though i'm mostly tapped out on mystery box shows. Very interested to see where the next season goes.

10. Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-
First 20 mins were a real surprise, and very neat to see on the big screen as a big gundam fan. The rest better reflects the show proper, and it certainly has me interested. Love the designs - both suits and characters. Machu is a kind of bug to me (affectionate).

9. Post Void
Frenetic streamlined twitch shooter. Very short and simple, but the feedback makes the shooting feel really satisfying.

Story starts out obscure but everything makes sense by the end and I ended up liking it. Like any Kojima game, blunt about it's metaphors. Surprising complaint given how visually bizarre this game is but by the end of it I felt like they explained too much. Worse, they *re*-explained too much! . 2/3

8. Death Stranding
Incredibly unique. The fact that such a weird game is allowed to exist with such a big budget is wonderful. Definitely not for everyone, but once you get into the systems it's very fun. Even if the gameplay isn't to taste the visual splendor alone is worth it. 1/3

7. Arknights: Come Catastrophes or Wakes of Vultures
Coincidentally, also a cathartic story with a lot of anger i can sympathise with!! Corporations gutting the social safety net! Manufactured poverty! Sleepwalking through life begging for some kind of direction! 1/2

6. Mickey 17
More of Robert Pattinson being a weird gremlin please and thank you. Pretty cathartic movie, even if it felt like it didn't really dig to deep into any of it's themes beyond a surface level. Broad as opposed to deep. 1/2

Stellar voice acting pushes the great script even further. Packs so much characterization into a relatively short VN.
Fighting with myself to not use my more spoilery screenshots to sell this thing. Go in with as little information as possible, let the game take you places.

5. Slay the Princess - The Pristine Cut
Spooky, silly, heartfelt. Squeezes a lot out of the concept, with the new routes added by the special edition rounding out the experience perfectly. Deceptively simple art style that culminates in some very memorable moments. 1/2

4. Metaphor: ReFantazio
Big step forward from Persona 5 as a more accessible SMT game IMO. End-game builds are compelling. Story-wise I think i like it more than modern Personas overall. I think P5 has the best singular moments but Metaphor doesn't have the staggeringly dull low points of - 1/2

3. Nosferatu (2024)
First time watching an Eggers movie and I'll say it lived up to expectations. Lots of surreal memorable imagery. I don't know what Eggers does to his actors to get those performances out of them but man it works. 1/2

Soundtrack is wall to wall bangers. Not my favourite stage gimmick - more irritating than engaging. Although it is very funny to watch my strongest units get annihilated by fluffy sheep wearing wizard hats. 2/2

2. Arknights: So Long, Adele
An extremely goofy setup that softens you up for a tearjerker story about love and grief. The go-to event to humorously juxtapose with AK's more grimdark stories - but like all AK stories, feels like it has more than one thing to say. 1/2

1. Chants of Sennaar
A little puzzle game about translating fictional languages. Definitely not the hardest language-based puzzle game out there (hello Tunic) but a highly polished experience from start to end. Quite pretty. Doesn't overstay it's welcome. Would recommend.
