The modern première of the ‘Life of Job’ is on 27th June at Winterbourne Medieval Barn. Job suffers torments: property loss, family death, physical disease and a scolding wife. Uniquely in this play, God reprimands Job for how he treats his wife! Tix/ info at: www.ticketsource.co.uk/winterbourne...

Some favourites at the British Library medieval women exhibition where I also relived my PhD with Paston letters galore and Christine de Pizan. A Latin cheat sheet; badges against Q Isabella; demons representing Pride, Envy, Grouching and Ill Deeming can’t get into the Abbey of the Holy Ghost.
