Lawyer, writer, all-around-great person

I mostly post about technology, law, and civil liberties (especially free speech), and how they intersect. And mostly at Techdirt: https://www.techdirt.com/user/cathy/

I also post silly things too.
My poster. Note to Democrats: I've gotten a lot of compliments...

I have been preparing for this moment for my whole life...*

*Except for Reasons I'm not going to be able to redo the costume right now. But I'm very practiced at dressing as a frog!

Spent the day biking between institutions named for Charles Schulz.

Look what we found in my dad's attic... Days when democracy is saved are worth remembering.

Here's to another such day worth remembering, hopefully soon.

It's been 30 years since I took a class with Michael Burowoy, but the lessons from those 10 units of social theory have stuck with me, and my work in law and legal advocacy still draws from them.

I laughed at the mention that he's been interred near Karl Marx.

HA HA HA I went to OCR the D. Md decision against Musk and DOGE today and my software did not like the word "Elon." Couldn't believe it was a real word! Called it a "suspect word" (I'll say...) and made suggestions for what word it thought it should be instead.

My favorite? "ELF."

There is a screen saver on this TV that must be AI-generated. Because in this idyllic scene there are birds pecking on the ground nearby--but not at the laid out breakfast that's apparently been abandoned...

(And there are only cute, non-stinging insects, who only sniff the flowers, not the fruit.)

Catching up to let you know that on Thursday me and my team won EFF's Cyberlaw Trivia night AGAIN! (Me and my team also won last year, because that's how awesome me and my team always are.) This year's team name was, "We take YOU down," and we lived up to it...
