Had such a great time teaching Year 7 today! We explored England from 1087 to 1154 - a whirlwind of power struggles, a fractured empire, and civil war - using @counsellc.bsky.social’s chapter ‘Meanwhile, back in Norman England: Struggling for control after 1087’ from #ChangingHistoriesKS3

Last night I was honoured to receive an Honorary Fellowship from the @histassoc.bsky.social

It’s hard to put into words what this means. It is more than an association to me; it’s a community that has supported, sustained and nurtured me at so many points in my career.

Proud to see it in print - proud to have been part of the journey - and especially proud that it’s dedicated to the much-missed and never forgotten Snelson.

This was one of the most special days. A coming together to remember an incredible human AND raise money for such a valuable cause. If you can spare a few (/few more!) £s you can still donate. ❤️

This is a stunning, unique, and deeply moving book that examines the 19th-century Irish diaspora through the life of Ellen O'Hara.

A scholarly work woven from history, poetry, and prose.

*New blog: We need to talk about... curricular coherence*

A new post for school leaders: *We need to talk about... a long-term approach to exam preparedness*

Exam prep shouldn’t be reactive. A long-term strategy, starting in Key Stage 3, is key for sustainable success. Focus on building solid foundations, not just last-minute interventions 🧵➡️
