For October 15, Feast Day of Saint Teresa of Avila, here’s one of the prayers attributed to her: “Blessed are you, O Lord, who have put up with me for so long! Amen.”

“For me, protest is about love of country.” Timothy Snyder

The #LoveOfCountry theme must go viral. #NoKings protests aren’t just about this moment, when the #Trump administration mass-fires feds and holds back funding illegally, but about the future generations whose fates are at stake.
October 12, 2025 at 6:13 PM
In light of the lies Republicans are pushing about #NoKings demonstrations, I'm posting images from YEARS of peaceful protests. Peaceful protests are not only as American as apple pie but a constant means of calling out #DonaldTrump, who's often used violent speech and threats in his remarks.

A reminder that the Trump-Vance administration is informed by #McCarthyism and specifically the influence of #RoyCohn. #Trump, #Vance, #Vought, et al. had a mobster mentality right out of the gate. They're also un-American, because they can't pick and choose which states count as part of the U.S.A.

@clfametrodc.bsky.social, have an awesome #October! 🎃

Here's one more image of the Church of Saint Francis of Assisi in Midtown Manhattan. I thought it would help to see the poor man of Assisi and the angels.

I took this photo on a beautiful spring day in 2023, when the world seemed a very different place.

All this day I've thinking of those we lost on 9/11, including #FDNY Chaplain Father Mychal Judge, OFM, of the Church of Saint Francis of Assisi in Manhattan. #September11 #Franciscans

I've always loved living in the D.C. area, and to answer attacks from Trump and Miller, I've been posting memorable images with hashtags such as #ILoveWashingtonDC and #SmithsonianUnderSiege. Here is Kadir Nelson's Henrietta Lacks (HeLa): The Mother of Modern Medicine.

And Trump not only commits crime but rewards it by pardoning January 6th offenders (some of whom went on to run afoul of the law again) and by honoring Vladimir Putin, who uses kidnapping, torture, and rape in the invasion of Ukraine.

@clfametrodc.bsky.social, here's another idea for a sign:

Donald Trump's record on crime is a very bad one: He commits it! #FreeDC

@clfametrodc.bsky.social, I've been thinking of ideas for rally signs! Sample text:

Of course D.C. has a crime problem. It's in the Oval Office! #FreeDC
