You don't defend anywhere by committing acts so heinous that the entire world recoils in revulsion. That is how you turn allies into enemies and make your country much less safe.

The problem we face is that the far right won't need to govern well. Look at Hungary. All they need is control of the media and courts, and, barring economic disaster, their continued reign is assured - meaningful democracy would be over.

Apparently, Muslims breed according to Heisenberg's uncertainty principle. You never know whether a country is overflowing with Muslims or completely empty until a non-Muslim outsider peers inside and has an opinion column to write.
