So I spun up a sequoia VM in parallels. But no. Because the Mac doesn’t now see the FW it can’t offer it to the VM. So now resurrecting an old iMac to do scanning only. It’s frustrating. Thanks for listening! I should tag Apple here, but I fear there’s no point.

My go to scanner for medium format and 35mm is my amazing Nikon LS8000ED. It’s FireWire only. I’ve been using it with a Mac mini M4 using an Apple usbc to thunderbolt adapter, a thunderbolt to FireWire 800 adapter and an FW800 to FW400 cable. Worked like a charm. Along comes Tahoe and nothing works.

"I hope Starmer wakes up tomorrow morning and feels ashamed about what he has done," says man who unveiled this poster the day Jo Cox was assassinated by a far-right terrorist.

And they have now appointed a receiver to the PPE Medpro business. Ensuring that (or trying to ensure) when the government wins, they’ll have no pathway to reclaim the lost millions.

And Farage, the chief architect of Brexit, is now making political mileage from the very thing he engineered. He increased extra-European migration (the Boris Wave) and is now promising to combat this. And stupid people nod-along.

This is why nothing ever sticks.

It's a cult like, Dunning Krugeresque faith system that attracts highly opinionated people who have "decided already" that they are right and who "believe what they see" rather than acquainting themselves with facts.

And it’s so stressful to listen to their output, being sufficiently intelligent to see through the rubbish, and know many people who, bluntly, either aren’t or just want any quick fix.

My hope is that Reform suffer some self-inflicted issue, or their policies become so obviously flawed people realise. That last point is just blind optimism though. All these far right politicians just live by this mantra….

It’s so sad that we’re likely to end up with Pound Shop Trump and some horrific policies.

The Johnson government allowed the number of people getting work visas to soar largely to compensate for the fact that EU workers were leaving because of Brexit, which was the policy that Farage arguably did more than anyone else to make happen. But he does not address this point in his article.
