(she/her) I read, write, knit, quilt, garden, and am potentially the world's geekiest accountant. I am Canadian.
I am devastated that @chuckwendig.bsky.social won't be at Halcon this year. (Though I do understand his travel concerns) I even had a local apple snack for him.

This year I've had vestibular migraines, abdominal migraines, and now yesterday I had an ocular migraine. I seem to be filling in the migraine bingo card. What do I get if I collect them all?

I realize that NaNoWriMo the organization is not a thing anymore, but for the first time since 2018 I won't be in school this November, and I want to do the whole write 50k words in a month on a single new project thing. I've missed it. Problem is, I'm a plotter, I have no ideas, and it's October.

Well, no Rapture yet, so I guess I get vacation after all.

I used to think I didn't like and/or couldn't handle reading horror novels... then I discovered I could listen to the audio books in the background while at work, and now I devour them. Current listen is The Book of Accidents by @chuckwendig.bsky.social in preparation for HalCon.

What's your favourite recipe with peaches? I have an over abundance of peaches.

If you like musicals, you should check out Little Miss Perfect at this year's Halifax Fringe Festival: www.halifaxfringefestival.ca/event-detail...
Little Miss Perfect: The Musical | Halifax Fringe Fest
Schoolgirls Juliet and Taylor separately come to the realization that they are madly in love with each other. The girls have to learn to accept themselves and each other while navigating telling their families about their sexuality.

I was issued a new work laptop end of day, yesterday... which means today is all about getting the new one set up right. Fun.

The formulas dancing through my head refuse to let me sleep.

Less than two weeks to the exam. Man that's a terrifying sentence. Need to figure out how to cram the entire Income Tax Act into my brain before then. This should be fun.

I have officially survived parenting teenagers.

This is my last day as the parent of a teenager.

I really love my garden first thing in the morning this time of year. There is a slight chill in the air, it smells of lilac and azalea. You can hear the cardinals calling to each other... it's really quit lovely. Wish I didn't have to come inside to work.

Almost finished my first day on the new job. Also, I was out of coffee... I do not recommend doing a full day of training (9 hours of reading tax law) with no caffeine.

Last day of work before I move to my new job.
March 31, 2025 at 10:42 AM
Back to work after two weeks of being off (mostly, I did work a couple hours here and there) to study. Only a few days until my new job starts. Get to meet the new supervisor today.

Well, for better or for worse, that's one more exam done. No idea if I passed it or not. I hope so.
March 26, 2025 at 4:34 PM
Well, my day started with a series of printer jams... took me an hour to print the practice exam. <sigh>
March 25, 2025 at 12:30 PM
I'm sorry, Wednesday, but I'm done printing cases for today.
March 24, 2025 at 12:13 PM
Today needs to be a three case day. Two study days left before the exam.
March 24, 2025 at 12:05 PM
I haven't done nearly enough studying yet, today... but I have taken almost 12k steps, so there's that.
March 23, 2025 at 8:55 PM
Oh Zelda.
March 20, 2025 at 10:59 AM
Today's studying has been very mixed so far. First case I went *way* over time, and still didn't do enough to pass. Second case I did in the appropriate amount of time and well enough to more than just pass. At this point, passing is possible, but it will involve some luck. One week to go.
