It was a real pleasure to represent the UK Young Academy at a roundtable discussion on 'Science in Conflict Zones' at the @ria.ie Royal Irish Academy yesterday, organised by the Young Academy Ireland @yai.ie (organisers featured in the photo). Inspiring and thought provoking discussion!

The public does not care what department we work in, but how our research can make difference. Are we missing a trick when approaching public engagement from a discipline-focused angle?

It was fantastic to be at the Royal Society yesterday for the UK Young Academy second members meeting! Great to see old faces and meet the new members. Really exciting time as new projects begin and we mature as an academy!

One of the projects I launched in the last couple of years is a public engagement fund at Reuben college. I wonder if it is a first for an Oxbridge college? 1/n
