Part 2 of that excerpt I posted the other day, experimenting more with whatever LibreOffice can offer in the coloring department, hope I can master the gradient & shape effects eventually.
I just love doing other backgrounds other than the subtle grey I use to reduce eye strain.

Part 2 of the Death Car excerpt: “Ja, ja, ja, ja, fühl' ich allein nur für dich, Doch, doch darf ich dir trauen, Dir, dir mit leichtem Sinn?” Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a Gestalt woman in a military uniform, her face was obscured by the shadow of her peaked cap and the unhelpful lighting. Seemingly singing a love song to herself as she stared at the ceiling in boredom, then she saw movement and stared at the Storch. “Ah, guten morgen mein genossin.” her voice sounded like hers, but devoid of that ‘synthetic’ tone that made it obvious when a Replika was speaking. “Who are you?” “Someone you only see when you’re particularly roughed up, don’t worry, it doesn’t seem to be that bad yet.” “Is this delirium? Why do you sound like me?” she dazedly blinked at her. “Do not waste my time with such questions, why I sound like you is irrelevant, you’re dying, actively, that means right now. You’re in the death car, this is where they bring your sorry plastic ass to Limbo. But the conductor made a mistake and I can get you out of here.” “What purpose is there? I’m dead, I bled out to death, I’m pretty sure.” “Are you really a comrade of mine? This sort of defeatism is unbecoming of a Protektor-Controller, Lanze. You will go back there, it’s not like that woman is giving me any choice, she knows how to twist an arm even asleep.” “Who the hell are you talking about?” “Never mind that, your teammates are about to pull you out of the mud you’re laying in and bring you back to life, but we can do a little something more to keep you going.”

I like to think that after death, some Replikas are sent to a place where they are judged by their Gestalt. That usually happens when some techs at AEON get sloppy at the "memory cleansing" part of making a Replika from a neural pattern.

An intercom played music that would’ve been sweet and not jarring if it was played in any other place or context. Her bleary eyes adapted to the lighting, it was really strange, she was unable to bring up her HUD no matter how many times she tried to. She gave up and looked around her, then at her hands. She was chained, her wrists were bound with iron cuffs like she was some dangerous criminal, it was obvious to her from the weight on her shoulders than she was also bound by the neck.

The ARAR neural pattern donor, a blonde woman wearing a tank top and construction pants, is lying down on the ground, bleeding from her right arm. She attempted to saw off her own arm but gave up and put the bloodied bonesaw aside. She is in a great deal of pain but is otherwise conscious but remorseful. "I'm definitely hearing from the Revolutionary after this..." she says. Note: the lighting is deliberately like this, it was my low-budget solution to provide the vibes of a dimly lit room.

Ideally I want my Replikas covered in blood and guts from head to toe constantly but then I remember that I'm supposed to write something of a love story as well. Actually you know what, Vierzig and Lanze WILL be both covered in blood and you WILL find it romantic!!!
My OC's Vierzig (ARAR) and Lanze (STCR) who are both rogue Replikas and mercenaries, they're both covered in blood splatters. Vierzig is holding a non-descript gun and Lanze is holding a stock-less AK-47. They're also kissing each other with comically-long smooching lips.
