Even awful people can be the victims of other awful people & it's still not ok. This is what "a case by case basis" is meant for. Understanding is not the same as forgiving. The point of justice is everyone should get it.

Seeing a lot of this sentiment & I get that some of it is hyperbole but speaking just for me?
I don't hate America or Americans.
I despise the systems that entrap & misuse you.
I worry about & fear for you.
Tourists aren't coming cos they know your leadership hates them. They know it's not safe.

Lol at all the Blairites tying themselves in knots to make Gordon Brown not an abject failure.
"He was unfairly dogged by the collapse!"
Oh, really? Wonder who was the Chancellor of the Exchequer that oversaw everything that went into that collapse? Brown must hate him! [Non-Brits: it was Brown.]

Oh gods. [head buried in hands] Please don't heroise King Chuck just cos he put out a statement.
The man doesn't believe mental illness is real. He thinks organic veg can erase all ills. He is just as batshit insane as your leaders, he just has shit-all power.

I am definitely not getting to see all my notifications & I don't know how many spoons I have for scrolling back to check much older posts, so if I've missed something I'm sorry & love you [platonic].

Nothing makes me worry for the future of the USA more than the way so many of their citizens behave online.
Apparently anyone in the world being on an American based site means we're in their space & should subjugate ourselves to them?
Do I need to share the wiki page of Sir Time Berners-Lee again?

Really telling that some people can't talk about Virginia Giuffre without implying that other victims aren't brave or courageous.
And anyone claiming she had "no incentive" to seek justice is not a real person with real thoughts & feelings.

Nothing but respect for the VPs who have to spend time fixing the totally fudged arm joints Larian stuck us with.
They had real mocap arms to work from & still!
No wonder tit physics was beyond them.
Only poles & sacks get physics at Larian!

Oh, I see, this huge over-reaction across the the pond is due to USians still not grasping how arrest differs here.
Here arresting someone is the first step of an investigation, not the last. He has been neither charged nor committed to trial. He has been arrested on suspicion.
February 19, 2026 at 12:19 PM
Oh & in case it also escaped wider notice, Anne is a racist POS who's also classist as you can get.
There's no such thing as an unproblematic royal in the UK.
Lol at all the media referencing Anne & her dogs & not the time our abdicated king definitely covered up a murder on an island.
If you're in the USA & still believe the fairytale version of Wallace & the king then you *really* need to check out the real history there. They were nazis.

In fact, fuck it, reinstate Yewtree with full powers of investigation or we riot.
I stg if this arrest is just more token bullshit in service of a wider cover-up...
I am so tired of injustice.

Oh, &, having now seen tertiary references to it in a couple of things, yes, Brits do have a stronger reverence for trees than the rest of Europe. It's likely tied to us having more of the Wildwood for longer & possibly all that survives of the pagan beliefs of the OG inhabitants.

Hey, remember when Dutch Elm Disease led to people everywhere discovering forestry management? And we got too good at it, cos the forests need rotting trees as much as living ones, & some really do need fires? So we adjusted & things thrived?
I miss basic science.

When I went for a nap yesterday I was sure I'd be up & about again in a couple of hours & it was in a cold room so I didn't put my fruit salad in the fridge & now it is today & I am sad.

For instance, the restoration of wetlands & peat bogs excites me enormously. As does the increase in farming initiatives that work within rainforest rather than clearing it. Also every move away from fast fashion. And that's just the start of a very long list.
“Is there a technology the left is excited about [that I can grossly distort to increase my personal fortune]?”
There. Fixed it to be truthful.
As if all of real medical science doesn't exist, & sustainability tech, & environmental rescue tech like the trash-catchers in the ocean, etc.

Does anyone remember which British village it is where the vicar has to turn a local erratic boulder over on a certain day or the devil takes the world?
Are we sure they kept it up?
February 19, 2026 at 9:40 AM
If Corbyn had tried claiming several grands' worth of glasses from a donor the media would still be going on about it.
If any of the Greens or Independents had it'd be the same.
But for some reason every time Starmer does an obvious corruption in broad daylight it's like their eyes are new.
February 18, 2026 at 12:52 PM
Maybe because they don't seem to realise or care how much they're reinforcing the invisibility of "women's work" - cos this shit is always about homekeeping skills - or maybe cos it's privilege-blind ableist crap?
Both? Both!
This is what I feel every time someone gets evangelical about "zero spend" shit.
"You just need a dehydrator!" That's an expensive piece of kit.
"You can just put them in the oven for hours!" Fuel also costs money, you know.
"I don't see why-" No, you really don't.
February 18, 2026 at 12:45 PM
"It's all totally free!" screams the person who just put themselves through hours or even years of unpaid work to make it happen.
February 18, 2026 at 12:25 PM
I would argue any benefit gained from "power-saving" tech is entirely lost when I am repeatedly flash heated to solar surface temps by it fucking turning off shit when I've paused something.
Not to mention the cumulative extra hours of energy usage as I find my place in the playlist I was watching.

When you order the tostati melt & they send you a fucking panini!
Also, new period symptom, the smell of hot raw basil makes me feel sick. Possibly cos it's an emmenagogue? Who knows! But I do know what I ordered didn't have any!
February 18, 2026 at 11:51 AM
I maintain social media continues to have the same problems from platform to platform cos they're all made by idiots who think them doing the exact same shit as every other failed attempt will turn out different.
Stop asking for interests & go for squicks instead.
It fixes everything.
