The fact is that my fear underestimates the degree to which this society is actively doing the worst most harmful possible thing *all of the time*. So while big systemic change is difficult and complicated, there is an incredible amount of good to be done by just *stopping actively hurting people*.

I do sometimes worry that progressive reform is complex, takes a lot of resources, and produces social goods that are limited, hard to measure, or take a long time to materialize. But this is a great example of how big and immediate change can be when we make sensible reforms!
