This project has been a big learning experience! First time working with superfine merino, and it's definitely different than working with normal merino top. Normally all I need to smooth the fur is a toothbrush, but I'm finding I need to tease the fur out with a straight pin. 🧶

WIP can look very silly before the fur is finished. 🧶 😺
She's going to be SO SOFT, the fur is a superfine merino with a bit of regular brown merino mixed in for that sun bleaching in the fluff.

Trying out wet felting tonight! I need a bunch of flat bits for *reasons* so figured I'd give it a try. Only need it to get to pre-felt, so it didn't actually take too long - now I gotta wait for it to dry. Then I'll cut it and needlefelt it to the final shapes! 🧶 🔪

🧶 Needlefelted cat! Not quite life size, but close. This is modeled off Mooney, a selkirk rex rescue.

He currently ranks as my longest needlefelting project, with about 13 hours of stabbing over 5 days. So much fur! In comparison, most of my projects take 3-4 hours.
