I think they should make a classification for USB4 implementations that also implement all the optional bits called "all the way" or "all the bells and whistles" so you can sort laptops by which ones have "all the bells at whistles"

I think operating system-provided file pickers should enable you to pick files that aren't in the correct format, but for which file conversions are known and cheap
like if there's an image upload utility expecting a PNG you can select a WEBP and it will auto-convert before upload
