One of the largest temmnospondyls ever to exist: the gigantic Koolasuchus was also the last non-lissamphibian temnospondyl to exist. It survived into the Early Cretaceous of Australia when all other stereospondyls were long gone

First discovered in Utah in the United States, in 1998. This smaller than most ceratopsian is well known for its unusual frill shape and elongated frill horns

After many hours of grinding and polishing, finally a complete worker ant ready for patination, assembly, and final polish 🛠️ She looks exhausted too 😅
About a dozen pieces of a worker ant made out of bronze laid out in a somewhat precious way on a wooden table top. The pieces are clean and quite shiny. Many of them have holes where bolts and nuts will go.

Our nearby Siberian elms are in rough shape, weeping sap each summer. The sap weep is a bonanza for insects, which become incredibly docile and can be closely approached. 🔬 I’ll update this thread throughout the season—for now, please welcome our first arrivals, the hackberry emperors! #sapweep25

Two creatures in snowy twilight hills. Each has a large "hamster wheel" out of thin, bony joints and protrusions, connected to the main body via long limbs on the sides. One of the creatures is perched atop its wheel, the trail behind it indicating it was literally rolling on it. The other, in the distance, has its wheel pressed against its back and its limbs tucked in, and you can see the trail of it sliding down the hill like a sled. Besides the wheel, each creature is subdivided vertically into a bright hump on the back, a darker middle part and a bright belly. They each have six limbs with medium-sized claws, no visible mouth and a row of shiny vertical eyes with two dark round ones on the edges.

With all the Gem Dragons I did for Dungeons & Dragons The Book of Dragons, the crystal dragon probably had the strongest foundation to build from so I really made a meal out of painting the skin folds.
