Philosophy of Education: a required course in the MEd in Student Affairs at SIU Carbondale. The quick-witted, fast-talking philosopher, Kathy Hytten, broke my brain. I was enthralled. She suggested I apply to PHD programs, served on my dissertation cmte, and remains a trusted mentor and dear friend!

The president’s ongoing ,childish cruelty is really too much. It’s disqualifying. But also just so ridiculous.

But what alarms me in all this is how the girls who were victimized by these men are largely forgotten. I want us to find ways of centering them in the discourse.

The depth of the shame of a country this wealthy and abundant allowing its people to go hungry is impossible to measure. The fact that a handful of people could fix this by paying their fair share of taxes while still remaining obscenely wealthy makes it even worse.

Under Trump, the draconian future of homelessness policy is coming into focus: mass internment. Utah is building a 16-acre site to detain up to 1,300 homeless people inside locked "accountability centers." This is profoundly alarming.
