This reminds me of a comment from a documentary on the Roman treatment of the Goths leading up to Adrianople: "When you're selling your children & you've *already eaten the dog,* I think most of us are going to rebel." There's only so much a person can take, & we might be getting there soon.

I do love impressionism generally, but as a geologist, I wish the details were a bit clearer here, because it looks like there might be some fun formations in the landscape.

My mother & I turned the cranberry sauce residue into a cocktail a couple of years ago, by rinsing the food processor out with rum & gingerale. So vodka in the pie crust would be in keeping with the season.

The board helps a lot with that. If you've got a good solid wooden board (or even better, marble or other stone), the dough will roll out faster & better than if you use a dinky plastic or bamboo board. They do cost more, but they'll last forever, just like a Dutch oven or cast iron skillet.

I cheat & use the frozen puff pastry. It rolls out so easily & everyone raves about how light the crust is.

White people (or at least my family) eat all day, but breakfast & lunch are basically buffets set out that everyone grazes off of away from where the cooking & prepping is going on. Then, when it's time to take the turkey out, everyone's kicked out or drafted as a sous-chef to get dinner finished.

Yep, but she's still got a long way to go before that. She'll probably lay low until things come to a head. If Trump falls, she'll pull an Albert Speer & play the reformed MAGA. If he stays in power to 2028, she'll try to replace whoever he throws to the wolves to keep his cultists conned.

Likely nil. I live the next district over & they are hard-core GOP, with hardly any official Dem presence at all.
But it's mostly a rural economy, so the tariffs might be hitting them hard, so you never know.

She wouldn't have to resign to run, plus her statewide polling's horrific. The only reason she keeps winning her district is because it's gerrymandered to hell & back.
