like im so torn about this and attracting haters that ive pointedly not mentioned who it is in this thread !!! help

i know i have creative freedom but i dont want my work to be judged & abandoned because of an ASPECT of the plot. it isnt necessary to be there. i just WANT it. bc i have 27 hot takes

i actually hate this conundrum so much. like i wanna write smut but also have jayvik yell at this one character for their canon actions and then have the story go in a canon divergent direction (still smut based but yk). but the fandom dies on the hill of protecting this character and idk

—character is not the main focus or anything, but theyre REALLY a bad person

i have a few jayvik AUs that i want to/could add this aspect to but i dont want to drive readers away. and im near the point of choosing my least fav AU for this just to not have the AU lose its potential & lose readers

i just LOVE them meeting their alternates and both sides are just entirely shook by how they treat each other
