University of Derby has signed the University of Sanctuary pledge and is working towards a Sanctuary Award!
Excited to work with local refugee communities, public and community stakeholders, students, and academics to contribute towards a safer Higher Education sector for people seeking sanctuary. 🕊️

It was an opportunity to showcase research and local initiatives, to discuss the challenges and opportunities for the refugee sector in Derby/shire and to explore ways to enhance collaborations across sectors - including with some very hands-on mapping workshops (by @alessiodangelo.bsky.social)

This week is #RefugeeWeek! At the University of Derby we started the celebrations last Friday, with the 2nd Derbyshire Refugee Conference. The event brought together researchers, students, community organisations, service providers, and public sector representatives.

"Reported sexual crimes against minors". At today's #CASSPPR seminar, @evepea.bsky.social shared emerging findings from her groundbreaking research on data availability, raising key issues about crime data reporting, recording and availability. We look forward to seeing the next steps in this study
