Just picked up a sampler box of Twinings holiday teas. Already tried the Gingerbread Joy blend, which is deliciously reminiscent of a warm gingerbread cookie. Will try the Peppermint Cheer tonight, and the Winter Spice & Christmas Tea, well, a bit closer to actual winter and Christmas. 😉

So after yesterday's news of not enough ATC staff at O'Hare, my (very) non-aviation-nerd sister asked about the O'Hare TCA and Chicago ARTCC (apologies for jargon.) It took a while, but I think I taught her something.

1/2 I live near an airway used by patrolling Coast Guard helicopters and a lot of Huey and Blackhawk helos (once even a couple of Apaches!) going to and from Naval Station Great Lakes. Fun times for a rotorcraft nerd. But it's suddenly stopped being amusing. Why?

Today's #UnconfinedWalks took me to the lake again, this time pre-dawn. The sunrise was okay, but all the friendly sun-worshipping hippies were out in force. "Good morning!" "Namaste!" "Have a golden day!"
Better than caffeine. I've gotta get out at dawn more often!

Hit the Lakefront Cafe for lunch with my sister on its last day before it closed for the year. Just delicious all around, from my Pineapple Whip Rum Float to the view (and the cheeky little "Dramatic Exit" sign.) Fun Saturday was fun!

I was in Chicago in 1982, remember my Mom frantically tossing all our Tylenol into the trash, and was just as terrified as everyone else over the Tylenol poisonings.
