On August 27, I beat Katana ZERO for the first time in 1 sitting! A strange action platformer with a heavy emphasis on trial and error, it's fun enough and doesn't overstay its welcome, even when it goes a little heavy-handed in the Vietnam War allegories. Good music too.

Yesterday (August 16th), I beat XCOM 2 for the first time (base game, veteran)!A necessarily harder game than XCOM 1, it provides more of that turn-based tactical bad RNG simulator that everyone knows and loves or hates it for! One day, I'll understand how line of sight works.

Today (July 18th), I beat Duck Tales Remastered for the first time! While it's a cult classic, it doesn't hold up well anymore. The fun pogo-ing mechanics, bopping music, and characters are overshadowed by weirdly tight platforming, random instant deaths, and a harsh lives system

Yesterday (July 6th), I beat the Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker DLC for the first time! I already loved the base game, so 4 more areas with new battle abilities and enemies was just wonderful. Not groundbreaking, but still very good and fun!

Yesterday (June 25th), I finally came back to and beat the La-Mulana 2: Tower of Oannes DLC for the first time! We returned to fish, and fish killed us many times. Just like base game, it's not for everybody, but if it's your thing, it's delicious and hilarious. (It's my thing.)

Yesterday (June 23rd), I beat Volgarr the Viking II for the first time! While the levels were a little long, the game provided more of that delicious Nintendo Hard Super Ghouls n' Ghosts-inspired action we all loved from the first game. Fun for challenge seekers, definitely.

On June 16th, I beat Metroid Prime 2: Echoes for the first time! A worthy successor to the greatness of Metroid Prime, 2 adds some fresh mechanics with Dark Aether while keeping the core that we are looking for. A rough final collection and final boss keeps it from top tier.

On June 3rd (yes, I'm late), I beat In Stars and Time for the first time! An extremely fun and well done time loop game and depression/madness simulator, this game both tugged at the heartstrings and surprised me with a couple of its twists. Some banging music too.

On March 30th, I beat 100% of levels in Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze for the first time! A much better game than DKC Returns in basically every way, the music is banging, the platforming is reasonable, and the difficulty isn't too bad. Only complaint is bosses are too long.

On February 24th, I beat Mega Man Battle Network 2! Another childhood favorite, this game took the proof of concept in MMBN1 and improved it massively to the point that it became a beloved series. Still a little rough around the edges, but extremely good, and postgame is great!

On February 23rd, I beat and 100%'d Cook, Serve, Delicious 3 for the first time! After a disappointing sequel, CSD 3 brought it with a post-apocalyptic food truck! Extremely fun game with a large variety of old and new foods and an excellent ramping up of challenge!

On January 4th, I beat Sea of Stars for the first time! It's a love letter to some of my favorite JRPG's of the past with stunning visuals, beautiful music, engaging combat, and great characters. In fact, I loved it so much that Sea of Stars is my 7th favorite game of all time!
