Thank you to @alexhonnold.bsky.social for the most fun interview I've gotten to do yet on THIRTY BELOW. Clearly it was winter when we recorded this...

I could not be more honored that Thirty Below has been selected as the Town Read at Mountainfilm this year! If you’re in Telluride, come join me at Wilkinson Public Library for some storytelling. So, so excited for this event.

I always forget how beautiful B.C. is. Maybe on purpose, so I’m not sad I don’t live here anymore.

The road north. Spring in the Rockies, she’s hard to beat.

How to brighten up a gray day: Exhibit A.

When @alexhonnold.bsky.social reviews your book and likes it, it suddenly feels like a legit climbing tale - especially given he wrote his book, Alone on the Wall, with one of the great mountaineering writers of our time in David Roberts. So, what I'm saying is, Alex would know. Thank you for this!

Montana turning out in FORCE. We don’t like it when people threaten our public lands and the livelihoods of people who work on and steward them. This administration wants a fight? They’ve got one.

THIRTY BELOW hits bookstore shelves today! Female figures in mainstream adventure and exploration literature in the vein of Endurance, The Wager, and Into Thin Air are shockingly slim. These are some of the women history unjustly forgot.

And, gender aside—this is just a damn good adventure story.

For a story: if you just lost your job at a public lands agency and want to speak, or know someone who does, message me.

One month out from book release! So honored by this review from the great @melissasevigny.bsky.social, who wrote one of the greatest adventure books of the last decade. Thank you!

So honored to have the great Kit DesLauriers - accomplished ski alpinist who was first to ski off all Seven Summits, and a beautiful writer - offer early praise for THIRTY BELOW. If there's anyone who knows the pressure and rewards of being a boundary breaker, it's her.

Morning is always my most creative time. Maybe it’s because the mind is fresh and cleaned out. Some say it’s because we’re closer to our dreams. Or maybe my muse is just a morning person.

So amazed that this story I wrote for @rollingstone.com.web.brid.gy is @applenewsroom.bsky.social top good news story of 2024! www.rollingstone.com/culture/cult...

Our early season snowpack is depressingly dismal around Missoula. But you don’t need much snow for cross country skiing, and it doesn’t even need to be good snow. And any day on skis is a good day in my opinion.

Happy solstice. Here’s to breathing through the darkness. Here’s to the return of light.

Apparently this is how much I like mountains.

Pro snowboarder Jess Kimura is blowing the glass ceiling off of snowboarding. But transforming the sport, and muscling a space for girls, comes at a steep cost. Latest on The Wilder Path: cassidyr.substack.com/p/on-making-... Photo by Dan Tyler.

We went from all smiles harvesting a tree with good friends - to no smiles in the ER with Ben needing an emergency appendectomy. Now we get to wipe out half our emergency savings paying for a life-saving surgery. Thanks, American health care system. At least we have a pretty tree to look at.
