I was going to wait a week because I am escaping to Miami this weekend but I couldn’t resist haha I reread all the Stormlight books recently including the novellas + Warbreaker, so I gotta do it while all this info is fresh in my brain haha though I’ll probably bring a beachier read with me 😂

100%, I never watched many of his videos but whenever I would get snippets that popped up on my feed, they always grated against me. Tried a few times to get into them to see if I was just being a hater but never worked for me haha

Yeah, I never got any “I’m a sexual predator” vibes but his personality grated on me and never understood why he was idolized so heavily because he always had an air of superiority about him to me

For sure, I think in the beginning, there weren’t a lot of platforms of people talking about fantasy books so a lot of people were drawn to him for that reason!

Sad for everyone who IS affected by his actions. Whether it’s because they enjoyed his books, content, or because he was a friend to them at some point. Especially his victims. There’s enough bad shit in the world, so it’s awful when you hear about it in a community that’s supposed to be a reprieve

Sanderson’s writing can feel a lot “fluffier” or wholesome compared to a lot of other fantasy writers so when he inevitably shows his brutal side of writing, it’s always a bit of a stab to the heart!

Absolutely. Thanks for the reminder! Sometimes I hate that it is hard for me to put my feelings aside and not give into the division growing in this country. But there’s a long road ahead so definitely can’t let myself be buried by it!

Evil is inciting coups that hurt the police that they pretend to care about and then pardoning. Evil is letting ICE tear kids from schools because that’s never appropriate. Evil is suppressing public health information. Evil is taking away work discrimination protections.
