Putting a bunch of resources into weird bespoke weapons systems was a huge problem for Axis militaries. The actual "superweapons" that help win the war were tanks that could be mass produced and easily repaired with hand tools.

It also helped me a lot to learn that there are few hard and fast rules to makeup. Just get some cheap stuff, watch a few guides, and mess around until you find something that looks good.

All I want is Napoleonic warfare with historically accurate army sizes. Give me tens of thousands of line infantry engulfed in smoke.

Check your local bike shop and see what they service. The problem with Rad Power and Aventon to a lesser extent is that they're hard to repair or get parts for outside of the dealers.

A Bosch power system or anything that's in the pedals instead of a hub mounted engine is preferable.

What a perfectly Puget Sound image.

I went on a photo hike on Bainbridge while visiting family last month. The way long lenses beautifully collapse the bays and inlets is so much fun.

Fuel standards have no effect on fuel prices. Cars look the way they do now mostly because of crash safety requirements, not fuel efficiency.

Also the SUVs that everyone drives are just station wagons that are on a truck chassis so that they don't have to follow fuel standards.

Interestingly the term antisemitism was often used by antisemites to make it seem more scientific.

Not unlike the way reactionary centrist like Smith disguise their gutter racism with appeals to rationalism.

Isn't betting on Kalshi technically illegal in the US?

Alison Rumfitt's Brainwyrms is a horror novel that's thinking about this.

It's similar to the wellness to anti-vaxx to fascist pipeline. Once you start ignoring plain facts in one aspect it's easy to start ignoring others. There's also a vast media infrastructure that accelerates that slide.

It's still very funny that all this is happening over a c-tier New York Magazine writer who exclusively appealed to beltway insiders.

CUNY has four times as many undergraduates as the Ivy League schools combined.

Also three times as many Nobel Laureates as Dartmouth

Or make the time restraints meaningful. I had an analytic chemistry professor whose test had strict time limits and the questions were long winding anecdotes. So you were also being tested on your ability to quickly pick out critical information.

I try not to be a curmudgeonly old gamer, but they truly do not make single player FPS campaigns like they used to.

Legal academia is a haven for the most stick in the mud dipshits you'll ever meet.

Even if you agree that the grade wasn't justified that doesn't explain putting the TA on leave or the fact that the student complained to the governor before going through internal university channels.

I found an 30 pin iPod to firewire adapter recently. I don't know how to explain that to anyone under 25.

I'm also unclear how effective it is as rhetoric to anyone who's not steeped in it.
