This past weekend, we took part in the annual #CabbagetownFestival - a celebration of the history, diversity and vibrancy of the community. We thoroughly enjoyed the music, food, performances and merchandise offered by dozens of vendors at the event, AND meeting everyone who stopped by our booth! 🥳🎉

In daily life: 45% of people living with HIV (PHAs) said that other people physically moved away from them after learning of their HIV status. In healthcare settings: PHAs especially from racialized or Indigenous communities describe being subjected to additional policing, overreactive infection control measures, and denial of services or substandard treatment. Words state In employment: A 2016 study found that 42% of PHAs reported having experienced employment discrimination - barriers to employment which affects incomes and opportunities. In relationship: Canada's laws governing HIV non-disclosure - criminalizes PHAs who do not disclose their HIV status under certain conditions.
