Oh how fun that they did this! I see a bunch of my students! 😀 Some in this group are from Saudi Arabia. And a number of the Omanis in the group attend Drexel's program (so they wouldn't know me)Thanks for sharing this picture!

Yes! They love soccer (as you can see) but they're enjoying basketball now too

Those are my student from Penn's ELP (English Language Programs - remember when you joined one of our classes on Zoom to talk about being a journalist?). They've just arrived in the past month from Oman, and they've loved getting into Penn sports. :)

Another tricky one is how "few" and "a few" are actually quite different: "We saw a few birds today" vs. "We saw few birds today." I'm an English teacher to speakers of other languages, and trying to explain the English language sometimes drives me crazy.

2/ These aren’t just headlines about “palace intrigue.”

What’s unraveling is the basic machinery that keeps Americans safe: vaccines, outbreak detection, lab guidance, and expert support for state health departments.

A couple of things: 1) Remember how many other international players take time to get things going (Gazdag was one of them). 2) Culture/language shock is REAL. If you or I move to a new country for work, it'll take months to be productive in the same way. Athletes are just like us "normal" people.

Thank you! I saw your post yesterday... This morning walking to work on Penn campus in Philly, I heard something I didn't recognize but thought it sounded similar to the bird in your post, and according to Merlin - it was a blackpoll!

I made the switch to www.ecosia.org a couple weeks ago and I've been very happy so far. Bonus - they plant trees and contribute to climate action, plus they're very open with their financial reports.
Ecosia - the search engine that plants trees
Ecosia uses 100% of its profits for the planet and produces enough renewable energy to power all searches twice over.
