I accomplished one of my long-term rock climbing goals: lead climbing to the top of this 60-foot wall for the first time.

Specifically the front-facing part of the wall. It's entirely overhung so I'm leaning slightly upside down the whole time

The SFWA Speculative Poetry Committee now has its own official logo. #SpecPo #SpeculativePoetry #ScifiPoetry

Looks pretty damn cool. Reminds me of the Two Trees of Valinor, with a scifi twist of the stars and cybernetic roots.

Expanded my forearm tattoo with a wrap-around watercolor brush stroke design

It's rare I buy poetry books. I know that's odd, but after writing and editing poems all day I relax with a scifi novel.

Goal is to read 1 poem a day and study it. So far I'm already emotionally wrecked by a Jack Gilbert poem.

I also love that my MFA mentor, Naomi Shihab Nye, is in here too.

Physical copy of the antifa volume came in. Over 200 pages of great anti-fascist writing in here.

A record four of my own political scifi poems are in it too. @notapipe.bsky.social

I haven't been this delighted to read a poetry book in a bit. It's perfectly mini-sized to fit in your pocket and showcase its scifaiku.

My favorites from the book is in the image below. But lots to love. "The Future is Brief" by Jean-Paul L. Garnier @spacecowboybooks.bsky.social

Got a few extra copies to keep around on travels. Never know when they might come in handy

@bfbzine.bsky.social adds stickers and notes to shipped print copies, which frankly, I love

My poem "Micro-OLED Mask" is out online for free or physical copy from @bfbzine.bsky.social. The cover art is also based off this poem. Great experience all around, go check B&B out.

@cbdroege.bsky.social has put together and edited an excellent and exciting anthology of specifically gamer poetry. Not only is the idea an amazing one, but the process behind its creation smooth and professional

If you're a fellow nerd who loves to read, be sure to check me and the other poets out

Let my emo/pop-punk credentials not be questioned

I was lucky enough to publish a #scifi poem almost every month this year and am glad to call SpecPo my home. There is more freedom within speculative poetry for the author than any other poetic style I've attempted.

And I promise the poems look better than my attempt at graphic design below.

My reaction when I read through a press's manuscript submission guidelines and see they want $20 just for submitting

Nothing like a nice contributor copy to spice up the day. This one from Soft Star Magazine has my award-winning essay on the intersection of transhumanism and anarchism in #scifi literature.

Spent yesterday at the annual Ethics in Publishing Conference in DC, put on by my alma mater.

Great discussions on equitable open access models, book indexing for children without traumatizing them, AI in publishing, increasing diversity in publishing, and more

Now that's a cliffhanger #TheExpanse

After 2.5 years I'm on book 9/9. Reading an endless slush pile and getting a second master's degree really slows down pleasure reading.

But damn if we aren't in the home stretch, and the books really picked up since #7. Loving being back in my space opera home, but ready to read shorter things

Rhysling Award voting is now live and open to all Science Fiction & Fantasy Poetry Association members.

As you peruse the voting packet, please consider my dystopian cyberpunk poem, "Mass-Market Affair" which is among the finalists. #scifi

Look at that, still making--slow--progress. Book 7 was exciting because I finally got past where the show ended. Now hyped for book 8 to keep up the new momentum

A month and a half since the last book, and I'm finally on book 7. Two and a half years since the TV show's finale and I'm officially now past where it left off. Means I can begin to find answers

Pretty sure when we started Radon is when I started reading this #sf space opera series.

Finally on book 6 of 9

It wasn't until this past year I got into a good groove of pleasure reading 1-2 chapters before bed every night without fail. Before that I'd read submissions all day and nothing else

@bugthewriter.bsky.social's new poetry collection came in. If there's one thing I love as much as spec poetry it's fascinating facts about the universe.

Each poem is accompanied by an illustration and tidbit.

Learning about our awe-inspiring cosmos is as exciting as any fiction we can write
