For data stewards and managers, making access routes transparent, stable, and well-documented is essential to keeping FAIR data truly findable and genuinely accessible 🌐

What happens when access pathways are opaque? The data may be technically FAIR but practically unusable.

This leads to delays, duplicated work, and frustrated users.

These include:

😶‍🌫️ unclear permissions
👾 login requirements that aren’t documented
💽 data stored on local drives instead of shared repositories
🔗 or links that lead to expired portals or internal systems.

Part of the remit of CaSDaR is to provide an evidence base showing the value of embedding data stewardship into research workflows; we feel that one of the ways of doing this in a sustainable fashion is to fund short data stewardship projects in research organisations and to support the recipients.

We at CaSDaR are aiming to bridge the gap between data generation and reuse by fostering a supportive, inclusive community where Data Stewards can thrive professionally.
