Went with the water background. The design seems to disappear pre-grout, but I am confident it will be fine. The Mother/Child bond is universal. Doesn’t have to be a birth Mother. I am focused on Gaia while I am working on this. Mother Earth has been a tremendous nurturing force in my life 🌎

I am exploring some ideas that focus on the Infinite Feminine. This piece represents the divine bond between mother and child. These micro tiles are recycled glass and approximately 2mm. Thinking of a ‘watery’ background.

All grouted and clean, this Mandala represents all the gorgeous greens I encounter when I wander in the forest. Cool damp mosses, lichen in the boughs, tall pines and deep pools of water. 8” mix of glass/ceramic on wood. Framed in tile and ready to hang.

As I am still introducing myself here, let it be known that my least favorite thing about mosaic art is the grouting. I’ve seen videos where it looks almost sensual. Music, gently pushing grout into tiny crevices…Me: shmearing (it’s a word 😂), wiping and cussing. I chose a cream grout. Will clean up

It’s been a minute since I did a Mandala. I know that I am not alone in my concerns about our future. I will be seeking solace, comfort and inspiration in nature. Hard. Doing this Mandala in PNW Greens. My favorite places involve moss, lichen, deep Green pools…. (Unfinished obviously 😊)

This sweet little stool helps my senior cat get on the bed each night 🐈‍⬛💗 It’s slim profile prevents me from stubbing my toe!
