I've been doing so well, so much so that I've completely disregarded the idea of these emotions ever coming back for the past few years. Yet here they are, fresh in my mind again

The death of my father is a subject I try to avoid, but it's also hard not to think about whenever the anniversary approaches, and depending on how well my mental state is going, the better equipped I am to handle the wave of emotions surrounding it all. But this year feels especially difficult.

It's hard to find the right balance of "I'm okay!! No need to sound the alarm bells" while also trying to convey that things that were once easy for me now feel impossible and I don't feel myself
