For longer term safety we need Americans to stop being the kind of people that would elect such a madman, and elect senators and congresspeople that are unable or unwilling to stop him.

the fact they feel a need to include someone like him is why i stopped watching. What do a bunch of partisan talking heads add news gathering? their only role is to add drama by turning every issue into a partisan horse race.

Why would it? It isn't necessary. It isnt a practice that needs to be followed. Is something that has "state of X" not enough? Or "office of the mayor of city of Y"? It is the office that is important, not the person.

Other countries don't do this. We seem to function just fine.

I've never understood why the executive branch at all levels are allowed to brand everything. Pictures of the president in federal buildings. the name of the mayor on the door of municipal offices. The governor's name on the state letterhead.

The US venerates the executive branch. Not normal.

we can continue to encourage canadians to avoid US products and travel. It is having an impact on their economy. We need to keep being clear why it is happening. it might have an impact in Nov.
There is always something to be done - still too many canadians travelling there and buying their stuff.

suggest I am the keyboard warrior.

lots of things you folks could do, starting with stop voting for any republican that supports trump. and stop voting for any dem that refuses to actively oppose, and isn't talking about prosecutions if they ever get power back.

but no - mortified. that is nice.

Since Charlotte took the route of responding then blocking, i can only respond to myself. But I did want to point out that it is really fucking rich for an american to offer the equivalent of "thoughts and prayers" to all of us living in countries Trump has threatened to take over and then...
January 5, 2026 at 5:06 AM
Until they are mortified enough to vote against republican congress members and senators, and against democrats who think speeches are all they can do to oppose him, this isn't enough.

Americans have unleashed a senile monster on the world, and not enough are willing to do anything about it.

An hour later. Still nothing.
January 3, 2026 at 12:16 PM
lets not forget to save some blame for sycophantic senators who rubber stamp trump's nominees regardless of competence or suitability for the office.
December 15, 2025 at 9:16 PM
You have lived a better life than most of us. I envy you.

Does she always write like this? Between this and the brief extract i read, she seems like a horrid writer, in addition to her other issues.

it looks like his ears are propelling him forward!
December 2, 2025 at 3:19 PM
apparently some canadian norms run very deep - can't shake them no matter how many years in the US!
November 10, 2025 at 3:14 PM
So many stranded batters these last two games. Painful.
November 2, 2025 at 3:40 AM
Non-partisan crappy umpire, at least.
November 2, 2025 at 3:27 AM
In fairness, Vladdy is Canadian. Mind you, so is Freeman.
November 2, 2025 at 2:29 AM
I hope they hit the hell out of him this inning. Exhausting the way they keep giving him special treatment.
November 2, 2025 at 12:58 AM
It is the original sin of the American republic.
November 1, 2025 at 11:27 PM
Paradox of tolerance.
November 1, 2025 at 4:29 PM
The US' speed run of the paradox of tolerance is going great. Drowning liberalism in free speech absolutism.
In a saner democracy a criminal investigation would be the appropriate way to show how the community feels about this sort of thing.

How much agricultural work do you do? Or the rest of your citizens? When was the last time you worked for minimum wage? Are you willing to pay two or three times as much for your fruit and veggies?

Good luck getting this essential but poorly paid work done at the costs you have come to enjoy.

As a partisan, i must take issue. While smith is a very good hitter, kirky is solid at bat generally, and has outperformed smith at bat this whole postseason. Kirk is also a dramatically better defensive catcher.

we have similar distance and went 65" a couple of weeks ago. no regrets or complaints.
October 31, 2025 at 6:34 PM
sounds like trying to be leaders. that is something the democrats seem deathly afraid of, with a very small number of notable exceptions.
