Do you consider yourself one of the stupid people?

I don’t disagree with that. You don’t need me to educate you on your lived experience. I apologize for doing that.

I agree their vetting process appears weak. Andrea’s disingenuous framing of what We Heart Seattle does appeals to groups purporting to support social justice. On the surface, cleaning public spaces and providing resources to those in need sounds like a lovely organization to support financially.

After a report last week revealed $1.3 million in funding for the Human Diversity Foundation, Conru pulled his support from the group and disavowed racism.

You won’t because you can’t.

You undercut your own argument, which is okay! Go after the bigots, but don’t pretend like that is holding them accountable for voting. Their vote is a constitutional right. Their values can be better informed, which will hopefully lead to a different voting outcome.

And you’ve just illustrated why “social shame” is not an accountability tactic for MAGA voters. Please illustrate an effective method for holding voters accountable for voting. You won’t do it in a way that isn’t instituting a fascist state.

There is an inherent dishonesty in the way Andrea markets and describes her organization such that it loops in donations from individuals/organizations without them knowing the damage We Heart Seattle actually inflicts on the greater Seattle community.

Do we know who funds Andrea?

I appreciate the chat.

I appreciate the idealistic viewpoint, but we’re arguing semantics at this point. Selling a political vision and selling a Lamborghini are done with different tactics, but they are both sales jobs. Motivate, convince, get folks to commit.
December 31, 2025 at 2:36 AM
It is literally the job of a campaign. Both things (campaigns selling and voters researching) can, and do — to varying degrees for individual voters — happen.
December 31, 2025 at 2:31 AM
A politician is most assuredly a salesperson. It’s absurd to state otherwise. The entire purpose of a campaign is to sell a candidate and their values to the electorate.

Of course it’s important for people to research their vote. Again, you’re making arguments against things I’m not saying.
December 31, 2025 at 2:30 AM
We’ll likely vote for the same people. You not realizing that confirms that you should go back to your movie, as you’re not contributing anything here.
December 31, 2025 at 2:27 AM
It is the job of the campaign to sell the candidate to the voters. That includes the voters you describe here.
December 31, 2025 at 2:26 AM
I’m not defending them, no matter how many times you say I am. It is not the only job of politicians to make their policy positions clear. They are salespeople by necessity. Convincing voters to vote for them during the campaign is kinda the job.
December 31, 2025 at 2:23 AM
They shouldn’t need to, agreed. But they do, in fact, have to, because this is a pretty fucked up country.

Stating she laid out her policies clearly is factually incorrect.
