I find Eze and Merino's positioning here really interesting.

Rather than them being on top of each other, I think it shows how Eze was moving up the pitch with possession to become the finisher, while Merino was dropping in from higher up to help facilitate those moves.

Also, shout out to Leo.

Forgive me likening our great bunch o' lads with the most odious team in league history, but our template between now and May is 04/05 Chelsea.

We're on pace for (slightly) more goals, more concessions and fewer points, but there's still time. We are the not-evil, authentic version of that lot.

Day 10: a film that is also a book I love.
November 24, 2025 at 7:41 AM
Why does Teddy Sheringham look like a man who has decided to defend himself in court over charges of serially defrauding the elderly (and indecent exposure)?

Day 9: a film with a soundtrack I love.

With all due respect to Grosse Pointe Blank, this one is obvious...

Lovely

Know it sounds funny but I just can't stand the pain.
Girl, I'm leaving you tomorrow.
Seems to me girl,
You know I done all I can.
You see I begged, stole and I borrowed (yeah, ooh).

'Ts why I'm easy.
I'm easy like a Sunday morning
That's why I'm easy.
I'm easy like a Sunday morning.

Day 8: my favourite film set in space.

This one will require the least thought of the whole exercise.

I think I must have seen this 20 times.
November 22, 2025 at 10:45 AM
Amazed I lasted 5 days without forgetting.

Day 6 + 7: a film I watch when I feel sad, and a film I'd love to see on the big screen.

The Rock: big, stupid and brilliant (and that's just Nic Cage).

The Thin Red Line: it's a really beautiful and powerful film, imo.

Weirdly intriguing double bill.

"Chris, why don't you fuck off."
November 21, 2025 at 11:42 AM
Thing is, I thought "fuck off" when they mentioned Lampard.

Imagine how 'disturbed' they'll be when they find out whose politics they're desperately copying

Day 5. A film I think is underrated.

24 Hour Party People.

It's touching, clever and extremely funny.
November 19, 2025 at 9:04 AM
Day 4. A film that starts with 'The'.

The Departed, a remake of Infernal Affairs which I enjoyed a lot more because, ultimately, I'm a bit basic.

It's just this guy, if he was also interested in destroying the environment and rewiring the brain with entirely unknown consequences.

And everyone hated this guy already.

Day 3. A film that made me laugh out loud.

None more than the funniest and best film ever made.
November 17, 2025 at 5:13 PM
What perfect album came out the year you turned 16?
November 17, 2025 at 4:56 PM
If they make it - and get a game in Mexico or Canada - I'm going. And I have my outfit sorted.
November 16, 2025 at 5:28 PM
Time to bring it back.

Day 2. A film I watched over and over as a child.

Bedknobs and Broomsticks, man.

The football scene is only surpassed by the Nazis getting their arses (literally) kicked at the end.
November 16, 2025 at 9:50 AM
Trauma.
November 15, 2025 at 4:17 PM
Ok. I'll do this.

30 day movie challenge.

Day 1: first film I saw at the cinema.

I have no idea. But the first I remember seeing without my parents...

...frightened the life out of me and I found Roger annoying. Three stars.
