As the systems of the world fall apart, let’s eulogize them together, shall we?
In the attempt to dance on Biden’s political grave, the far left and the media establishment are clearing the way for more human rights abuses, more war crimes, and more strongman imperialism.

This narrative is dangerous. Once again, in seeking to punish Democrats, people are enabling authoritarianism.

The only thing Trump did was give Netanyahu the space to enact his strategy. The only reason that strategy worked was his inference to the laws of conflict.

Since Trump took office, the limited amount of aid getting into Gaza stopped entirely. Even more of the strip was destroyed. The IDF operated with even fewer constraints.

The result was that Hamas was ultimately forced to a much weaker negotiating position, with less support from the people of Gaza

Compare the coverage of the Afghanistan withdrawal to the US withdrawal from the aid supply chain.

These deaths simply are not discussed at all. It allows the administration to continue to lie about the impact its aid freeze had.

People also seem to forget what made the US the hegemon.

Hint: It was the most devastating conflict in human history.

You’re responding to your own argument. If you don’t like it, that’s a you problem.

England built highways in Africa too. How’d that work out for the people of Africa?
September 24, 2025 at 6:45 PM
You literally just admitted China, poised to replace the US/West as global hegemon, is “as murderous” as the US.

This is your argument.
September 24, 2025 at 6:44 PM
Let’s take your argument at face value.

You’re conceding - at best- it’s not an improvement for everyday people in any way.

We are currently living through multiple crises that have American global weakness as a key inciting factor. Each of these crises is downstream of November 2016.

Completely ignoring the positive impact of the US in global affairs ignores what actual non-American people believe about US leadership.

How is it paternalism to point out that the major global hegemon being an extractive imperialist country is not, in fact, an improvement over the post-WWII consensus?

Because that’s the path we’re heading on. It’s not “oh, the BRICS is in charge and the Global South lived happily ever after.”

They’re also likely using this designation as part of the (dubious) legal framework for bombing more random vessels.
September 24, 2025 at 6:33 PM
We’re already seeing large parts of the global south specifically choosing to align with China and Russia. They’re doing this in no small part because the US has abandoned them.

Why has Wagner stretched across sub-Saharan Africa? Because of too much US/European influence?
September 24, 2025 at 5:55 PM
But the reason they function completely differently is … that liberal democratic hegemony.

The Global South is the way it is because of extractive imperialism. Chinese imperialism has proven to be no less extractive. Abandoning it to that fate isn’t giving it agency. On the contrary.
