Oh look, my novels on yet another US banned books list. It's Freedom to Read week here in Canada, during a time when fascists burning books is not hard to imagine at all.
When you block freedom of expression and restrict access to art & literature, you carve away our shared humanity.#freedomtoread

Today’s office is brought to you by the cheapest oceanfront property to be had, a 91,913-word mess of a manuscript, two emotional support books (“No One Left But You” by the brilliant Tash McAdam, and “All the Light We Cannot See”) and several creepy horror movies downloaded for later. And snacks.

My weird little alien abduction story won 3rd place in Geist’s literary postcard story contest. Short form is my favourite writing of all, and when paired with an image, it’s over-the-top delightful. Thank you to Geist for holding up this lovely bit of story symbiosis. Next year is its 20th!
