I basically stopped reading and writing anything for eighteen months. I could not deal with anything that depicted real life. Took a hard turn to fanfic. All fantasy, zero reality.

Eventually led me back to writing.

Blood & Steel has been on my TBR since 2023.

No time like the present! 🙂

I just finished Writing Iconic Characters by Claire Taylor and now I'm switching to Obsidian by KF Breene.

I like the romantasy books written solely from the FMC's POV. I'm not really interested in anything the MMC is thinking - forget any other character's POV.

These people are so insulated from real life that they don't understand the concept of shopping for food, not having enough money to pay for it, etc. They think only a small percentage of truly feckless idiots wind up in that position, when it's roughly half of Americans.

Paperback because they are lighter to carry around. From a patron perspective.

That anyone would defend the NYT at this point is ... 😬
