You think… I know through friends whose kids wanted more than what their parents were willing to spend and emptied their 401K to get a destination wedding to Italy that put a burden on guests and left people bitter for feeling forced to attend and left the nuptials bitter for those who refused.

I never mentioned a 100k wedding. You did. The article mentioned middle-class people unable to let go of pricey weddings. Middle class is not rich and in some cases, 20-30k is enough to put down on a house.
