I hope today you look at someone the way Pogie looks at me when I have a baked good.

Love is cool.

Also, apparently I'm procrastinating because I'm typing this instead of doing all the things. And also, I'm staring at Cloud, my cat who is definitely NOT staring at me.

How about you? What do you do when you're feeling overwhelmed?

I am feeling super frazzled today, worried about a zillion things beyond my control, and basically the opposite of a stoic.

But there are mountains and cool bits of ice and right this second some snow coming down so I'm trying to lean into how lucky I am to live in this cool wintery place.

My emails & DMs every day in winter: You live in Maine? There must SO MUCH snow! You're wearing flannel because it's so super cold. I could never survive that.

Spoilers: I am wearing flannel.
There is no snow any longer where I am.
It's about 37F/3C now.

Big truth: I really really love it here.

This is happening in my town. And it makes my writer heart SO happy.

What is this?

Can you guess?

IT IS A LIBRARY ADDITION!!!

I'm pretty impressed by all the people who made this happen.

This very fine Wednesday morning, I give you Mr. Murphy in a hat.

I hurt my eye the other night (it's the one I use to read with--my eyes have differing roles because my brain is funky like that) and it's making it a tiny bit hard to write/post/see.

But I can still see this big boy. <3

"It is a serious thing // just to be alive / on this fresh morning / in this broken world."
- Mary Oliver, (2008). “Red Bird: Poems”, p.28, Beacon Press

And that's how I feel this Monday. You?

The photo is just a little one I took this weekend in Acadia National Park in Maine (where I live).
