Iron Lung not only is a big step forward for indie cinema, but it genuinely had great acting, music, lighting, practical effects, and some freaky as Hell imagery.

Maaan I slept on this one big time. Elio actually got me choking up, and it even gave us a character on par with Goo-igi. Give this one a chance, Disney certainly didn't.

Holy crap what a story! The anime needs the Brotherhood treatment so bad. I love all the characters, the themes and arcs are poignant, the art style holds up. Really the only major complaint I have is the egregious fan service moments, but I just skim past those.

After having read Soul Eater, I can't help but think about how cool Death the Kid would be on DEATH BATTLE! alongside Liz and Patty. Who would you pit him against? (also wow, the anime does not do his character growth justice, at all)

The Long Walk
Crazy that it took THIS long for us to get a film adaptation, but the wait was well worth it. The characters are immediately endearing, and the simple concept lends itself to some of the most nerve wracking and heart wrenching moments I've ever seen. Cannot recommend it enough.
