I make art sometimes. Cat, dog, chicken mom. She/they.
I'm glad paper mache is having its time to shine again. It's so underutilized. You can litterally take what would otherwise end up being trash and make whatever you want. Right now I'm making trinket shelves and I get to use cereal boxes that won't recycle and it's great.

I'm finally getting through the dried chickpeas I bought and so the house smells like harissa roast chickpeas and chickpea curry with whatever vegetables I had. Might make chickpea smash sandwiches tomorrow too for lunch if I'm feeling fancy.

Fixed up this older jester drawing I did. The border was inspired by a bunch of folk art designs and was super fun to zone out with.

The leaves are finally yellow and falling, the air smells like incoming rain, I'm about to make vegan orange chicken while listening to RAYE's Royal Albert Hall performance...I love life

There are so many strange little succulents I somehow did not know existed in my 10+ years of growing them. Every time I go on reddit I see something new. I yearn to find a haworthia truncata in the garden center.

The way some people hold disabled people to far higher standards than able-bodied folks really feels like defending yourself after getting beat up as a kid and getting told by the adults that you shouldn't have because you're older/bigger/etc sometimes

Its fascinating how a song can catapult you back in time so easily. Right now I'm not having a positive experience with this but it's such a beautiful song that I'm trying not to let the memory ruin it for me. Trauma really is like messed up glitter, always lurking somewhere.

And yes, vaccines help…lessen the severity if and when you do catch them. They aren’t sterilizing.

That doesn’t mean they’re unimportant. It just means they should not be your only layer of protection—and certainly not your family’s.

Mask up in the germ tubes and the places they stop.
We always see a surge of infectious disease, including COVID, RSV, etc etc around Thanksgiving and Christmas. Unless you want to gift your fam with a few weeks sick this year, mask up as you travel!

Ridiculous that treating severe iron deficency would make me go from running hot even in the dead of winter because of inflammation to shivering like a tiny hairless dog at 60 degrees.

Poverty and disability often go together.

It’s difficult to “try harder” your way out of financial problems when you lose your health.

The pull yourselves up by your bootstrap mentality goes out the window if you’re bedbound.

It can happen to anyone at any time.

They aren’t moral failings.

My neighbors cat (named Mango) wants to be our cat so bad and my mom and I feel so bad. My neighbor will not hear us at all about her four (was five) new cats being indoors so we're trying to give them safe and comfy places to chill outside water when it's hot, etc. But it's been bonkers.

Remember that the majority of anti-vaxxers are themselves vaccinated against diseases like polio, diphtheria, measles, mumps, and rubella.

It’s only their kids they choose to put at risk.

Encouraging people to “be entrepreneurs” and negotiate their own health insurance with a multi-billion-dollar for-profit industry is like telling someone to take their Costco membership fee and go negotiate directly with food manufacturers.

I don’t care who you are, the one thing that links all of the -isms and bigotries together and sets them on fire is eugenics and ableism.

They’ve been playing you all the entire time. There is no progress in this country for ANYTHING without equity for disabled people.
