I remember READING "The Man in the Water" when I was 13, and in this piece the early mention of Arland Williams reminded me of that piece. I instantly thought "I'll bet it was the same guy." The story stayed w/me. It broke my heart then, & breaks my heart NOW. The bridge is a fitting tribute.
