6000 people protested in Pittsburgh Saturday. Pat McCardle and Meg Pereira lead here with signs, followed by Carolyn Pandolfo anonymously shortly after. "This Pussy Bites Back" inspires me. I didnt know that I cared about our flag but I do. For non Pittsburghers Jaggoff is local for asshole.

These collages have become a part of my morning drawing routine: making freeform cutouts, using skin tone markers and original photographs- all on my father's old wooden desk.

Someone should write a treatise on the role music and specifically radio shows have on art studio productivity. These collages, the latest in the #huggableloveableuterus series are near completion with the recent addition of layered color. The impulse to create layered surfaces does not quit.

The squash and pear photographs that I've been using in this collage series are all original. Slightly over-ripe, drippy, wet and semitranslucent slices of pear and squash were rear illuminated at the time the photographs were taken. Afterall #huggableloveableuterus are shaped like upside down pears

The base drawings for these cut and pasted collages aka papier collé were made with @pintar.artsupply Skin Tone markers on grey @strathmoreart drawing paper which holds the marker paint quite well. #huggableloveableuterus

Collage often seems like a puzzle. I move shapes around in combination for quite sometime, and once settled, even then again altering their location the tiniest bit. There is something about working with the physical material as apposed to digital which supports this process. #huggableloveableuterus
