At Care Full we support the #SafeSickPay campaign from @progressivechange.bsky.social.

For unpaid carers the fear of becoming ill is acute; it not only affects the practical aspects of care but the financial too.

Our latest blog has more on the need for change carefulleconomy.co.uk/2025/02/07/c...

Our Director @benrharrison.bsky.social was delighted to join a meeting organised by @progressivechange.bsky.social yesterday with @darrenpjones.bsky.social MP (Chief Secretary to HM Treasury) to discuss the benefits of raising the level of Statutory Sick Pay from £116.75 per week.

The Lead and @progressivechange.bsky.social joined forces earlier this month to urge the government the make the change needed to support some of society's most vulnerable workers.

We need urgent action to ensure there's fair sick pay for all.

Make the government think again!

Many thanks @oxfamgbpolicy.bsky.social for publishing a blog today on the need for an increase in the rate of #StatutorySickPay. Current proposals won't go far enough to protect millions of people reliant on sick pay.

The #EmploymentRightsBill is our opportunity to change this. Read more ⬇️

People won’t ‘get well soon’ without decent sick pay. 💸

That’s why we’re supporting @progressivechange.bsky.social's campaign to raise the rate of Statutory Sick Pay, so everyone can afford to take time off to recover from injury or illness.

Statutory Sick Pay is inadequate - at around just £3 an hour it forces people into debt, pushes them into poverty and can make them leave their job.

Mind and the Safe Sick Pay Coalition call on the government to fix this - join the fight and write to your MP actionnetwork.org/letters/ask-...

In case you missed it - here's part of the piece that featured on Radio 4 today, as Union leaders called for a sick pay increase.

Decent sick pay is the norm in other countries. Raising UK sick pay is backed by many experts, charities, trade unions, and business groups

The current sick pay system is not fit for purpose. Too many workers in the UK have to try and survive on £116 a week of Statutory Sick Pay.

Today we have written to the Prime Minister, alongside 23 Trade Unions, asking for an increase to the rate of Statutory Sick Pay. It is time for #SafeSickPay
24 trade union leaders have written to the Prime Minister expressing concern that Labour's manifesto commitment to "strengthen sick pay" isn't being honoured - and calling for an increase in Statutory Sick Pay.

All workers should have access to #SafeSickPay

Laid up with what I’m pretty sure is flu, joy. 🤒😰😷

But thankfully I can manage to stay in bed and not spread it around.

Many can’t / We’ve got the worse sick pay of most countries .

We need #safesickpay
We’re supporting the #SafeSickPay campaign. Raising Statutory Sick Pay would mean millions of workers in would finally be able to afford to take time off sick when needed.

Write to your MP to back the campaign: bit.ly/sickpayaction
