On September 11, 2001, thousands of innocent lives were stolen in the deadliest terrorist attack on American soil.

In addition to remembering the victims, please take a moment to honor the survivors, first responders, and families whose lives were forever changed. #NeverForget

House Republicans are trying to ban research on gun violence—when it is the leading cause of death for children and teens in the United States. And more than half of gun deaths are suicides, with that number rising to 70% for veterans. (1/2)

Our president is a whimp. How is Russia, or any country, supposed to take the United States seriously with him in office?

Conservatives say they want non-ideological research. That describes 95% of us empirical political scientists. But they're establishing conservative centers that intentionally privilege conservative, ideologically-driven scholars in the humanities while eschewing the empirical social sciences.

Measles is making the worst comeback in decades because of politics, not science. The anti-vaccine movement has spread dangerous misinformation, and the Trump administration is feeding the flames. We need experts, not conspiracy theorists, guiding the nation.

The Trump administration mistakenly sent emails to Ukrainian refugees with temporary legal status, urging them to leave immediately or "the federal government will find you."

This behavior is unacceptable — @menendez.house.gov and I led a letter condemning it.
Trump administration accidentally tells some Ukrainians to leave country
Some Ukrainians who fled the Russian invasion received an urgent email saying their provisional legal status in the U.S. would terminate in seven days. It was an error.

We must protect public education & ensure every child has access to the opportunities they deserve. We can't let political games stand in their way.

Even in women-dominated fields, like education and health care, women earn less than men.

Women and families deserve better. We won’t stop fighting until the gap is closed. #EqualPay
