Just announced: ESFA functions will move to the DfE. ESFA has played an important role in the system, but @cstvoice.bsky.social has long called for a single regulator. This is an opportunity to bring different regulatory functions of the ESFA & RDs together.

Might as well start my Bluesky account as I mean to go on by posting about monthly teacher training recruitment data 🤓

Still woefully behind targets is the headline, in most subjects and even primary this year, underlining the need for further policy action to improve recruitment and retention

Every single thing that costs money or has “fund” attached to it is currently held up at the DFE.

This is understandable given what they inherited.

It won’t be understandable for long, though. If there is bad news coming, we need to know it asap.
