King and Goffin began writing "The Loco-Motion" inspired by the sound of Dee Dee Sharp and brought in Eva to record the demo. The Cookies sang backup on the demo and King herself played piano and sang. Don Kirshner loved Eva’s demo so much that he decided to release the demo. #blackhistorymonth2025
