This ruleset is incredible and fun, with so much to unpack here and I genuinely cannot wait to play it.

Also it encourages your players to have a pet. The bane of most TTRPG tables, this ruleset thinks you should have a cat and honestly they’re so right.

(Also horses are canon. Shoutout to my personal beef with the Fallout universe over that)

It’s so full of lore tidbits I wouldn’t have known about either - and the implications of them as you read and encounter them are - implicating.

Two of the main ‘rules’ for being a Game Mother by the way -

I love how this game is clearly for fans and is actively encouraging you to reference the line, so the things, riff from the movies!

And so encouraging you to brutally kill your friends 😇

Obviously a reference to the ship’s MU-TH-UR from the series, but also maybe to the ‘mother’ of aliens - The Queen, and maybe to THE Mother, Ellen Ripley.

( side note: the authors and developers of this ruleset clearly care about the lore of the universe and it’s so beautiful to see. They include a recommended reading list for some of the novels set here! )

There’s this beautiful timeline of the ‘Alien’ universe bringing us to the ‘present day.’

⚠️ This book must’ve been released before ‘Romulus’, there’s no mention given to events there.

🥲 It makes Alien3 - my least favorite - important.

One thing I love is how in the first chapter - which is trying to set up the theme of it all, there’s these side blurbs of a ship’s log as the crew of ‘The Miranda’ clearly encounters a Xenomorph and the growing dread that becomes recorded as time goes on.

It’s so freaking cool!

Opening it up, on the inside cover is a Star Map of the canon universe and it’s freaking gorgeous.

I spent probably 10 minutes alone admiring this, and getting excited when I found Sevastapool station on it.
