transiently associates with them, and induces their retrograde transport via dynein and the microtubule network toward a perinuclear region near the microtubule-organizing center (MTOC), where the vRNPs remain sequestered.

Finally taking the time to post about the fantastic conference #NSV2025, which was held at the #Corum, here in #Montpellier, South of France, and co-organized by Paul Duprex, Wendy Barclay, Sean Whelan and @oliviermoncorge.bsky.social! My whole team was there and we had a fantastic time!

Taking a break from evaluations to analyse some confocal images I took this week on IFs I did with bronchial ciliated cells from @arebendenne.bsky.social 🤩

And we observed that, conversely, ATM inhibition (with AZD0156) potently inhibit SARS2 replication! This also works against seasonal HCoV-229E, suggesting a conserved mechanism for these human CoVs, and in multiple cellular models. 4/5

The master DNA Damage Response kinase ATM, which lies in a resting state associated to Goldi-bound P4P in the cytoplasm (see fantastic previous work from María!), is displaced upon SARS2 replication, and massively activated... 3/5

Like other +RNA viruses forming DMVs to replicate, SARS-CoV-2 needs PI4P (as shown with decreased replication with PIK93 inhibitor) and hijacks OSBP1 to get it! Inhibition of OSBP1 induces a potent decrease in replication (while GOLPH3 and SAC1 silencing increase replication) 2/5

Thrilled to have been trained on our brand new Miltenyi Tyto cell sorter and cell cytometer MACSQuant16, both placed in our BSL3 @irim-life.bsky.social.
Great training by Esther Dalko and Cyril Longé from #Miltenyi!
Really looking forward to use these equipments for our ERC-funded project InVIRium!

Fantastic PhD defense yesterday for now Dr Antoine Rebendenne, who had been co-supervized for his PhD by Mélanie Wencker (CIRI) and myself (IRIM). Thank you to his amazing evaluation panel: Volker thiel, Sam Wilson, Sandie Munier, Nolwenn Jouvenet, Monsef Benkirane, Uriel Hazan. And congrats Antoine

We are looking for 2 postdocs (a molecular virologist and a bioinfomatician with wet lab experience) to work on our ERC-funded InVIRium project! We're based in Montpellier, France and we aim to better characterize respiratory virus replication in pertinent models of primary airway epithelia.
