Just arrived here from elon's nightmare X. Hoping to connect with other friends from there in order to feel at home again.Gringai land Hunter Valley, NSW.
This orchid lives under my verandah, totally neglected and unnoticed, when suddenly Spring arrives, and Boom!, sprays of perfume hanging every side.

This one is always attached to me, literally. But I need to get a coffee......

Ditto. Soot the poodle waiting for a vacancy, this bed being closest to the fire.

Give them time. And I haven't even mentioned the seed eaters. It's everyone from blac cockies to billions of these finches. And the wallabies and bandicoots come every arvo.

How lucky am I? These black cockies come to my seed table every morning now, screeching loudly to announce their arrival. Very special.

Prince and his dad Bronco have had a tough morning, but say "Hi!" to Sully ( between snores ).

I'm halfway between Dungog&Paterson but live on top of a mountain, up a dirt road. Surrounded by flooded valleys, all roads in are flooded, so it's just a case of waiting it out. Still raining, so going to be a while. Even the giant worms are energing.

This was my sanity saver on my early morning walk today. We will get through this, together.

Metaphor for the day, just as Insiders came on this truckload of manure was delivered from neighbour's goatshed clean out. Much sweeter smelling and useful than Insiders opinions.

This was him on Tuesday when the bulge in his middle prevented his customary entry to the roof cavity. Usually reappears in about 10 days.

@emergencybk.bsky.social here's a slice of my bush living serenity in this crazy world this morning. Have a good day.

This is our monthly local 20 pages of news and jokes and sports results, delivered free to letterboxes and local shops. We also had a weekly newspaper cost $s, but it closed down and now we have a better one, free to collect as well.

Here's some smart Angus who do more for the economy than Well Done Angus ever will.

He went up the wrong 'tree' this time. That'll teach him to steal the dogs' bones.

Surely a comatose Aussie cattle dog would be more patriotic than a foreign lab!

This in my garden this afternoon.
January 3, 2025 at 8:10 AM
This is my garden resident, a tad inconvenient with four dogs, but he's been here about 6 weeks, so I guess we'll be okay.

Am a fair way from either bubbles or cawfee right now, walking in our drought-ravaged landscape with 2 of my dogs. Even water is scarce. It's dire.
